When I first opened it I was amazed by the packaging alone then when I saw and smelt the candles it was better than I imagined. I waited till me husband can home from work to show him and he loved them. He got chills just by the look but after we lit the first candle (The Ranger) he said oh yeah we are buying more. Even though I have only lit one they are amazing candles. They smell awesome and burn beautifully. I want to thank you so much for your amazing candles I have been a fan of Tolkien's work since I first read The Hobbit when I was 7 and reread his work once a year every year. I received my Tudor Library candle a couple of days ago. I can not describe how wonderful it smells, and I haven’t even lit it yet! I put it near my reading chair in my library and it enveloped me in a woodsy scent with hints of vanilla and patchouli. It’s the most wonderful smell. I did not want to light it, as I did not want to use it all and miss that smell, but then I remembered I can always order more candles! I am extremely delighted with this product!

I didn't expect to love these candles. What I did expect was that this would make a unique gift for my Lord of the Rings-loving daughter on her 16th birthday. But as we opened the box and smelled each candle, we were delighted. Each scent was unique and perfectly matched its name. We were able to walk through Fangorn Forest, sit with hobbits smoking pipe-weed, and shop at a spice market in Bree. We were especially enthralled with The Ranger, with its complex blend of leather and the outdoors. I applaud you, Mythologie! I hope you are working hard to bring the 'out of stock' scents back soon because I will certainly be purchasing them!

These are all very original, creative scents. My two favorites in the sample pack are Wizard’s Pipe Weed and The Ranger, the combination of both reminiscent of a nice leather bound book and slightly sweet, mellow pipe tobacco. King Of The Wood Elves and Bearded Tree are also wonderful and we burned those at Christmastime, even though they’re not distinctly a Christmas scent, but could be stronger, in my opinion. I have not tried Bree’s Spice Market yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Second Breakfast might encourage you to cheat on your diet, with that wonderful scent of freshly made pancakes and syrup. I’m eager to try others, and it’s difficult to choose just one.

The scent of polished leather hits you before even lighting this candle, there's undercurrents of pine forest, other foliage, hints of steel and tabbaco. A tall man in a long dark coat has just walked out of a thick tangle of trees. He has a longbow over his shoulder, a steel sword sheathed at his side. He holds a freshy caught hare in his hand. He walks over to a clearing in the forest and picks up fallen branches from the floor, puts down his bow and quiver and begins to build a camp fire. Soon the fire begins to crackle in the growing darkness. He skwers the hare on a branch and skins the animal. He takes out a pipe from a leather pouch at his belt and fills it with some rough cut tabbaco. The heady smell invades your nose as he lights the pipe. You are wary of him, a traveller alone with a day of walking behind you and a longer journey still to go. You've been warned about his kind, the men and women who roam forest, hills and glade often alone, carrying their weapons, hunting and wondering from town to town. Some say they're dangerous folk, mysterious in their ways and living outside the laws of the civilised. Yet you're curious and the night is growing cold. You crave a little companionship on the lonely road. He invites you to join him at his fire, the smell of the roasting hare is tempting also, your stomach growls a little. You hesitate at first, studying the stranger sat on a tree stump, his thick cape wrapped around him and his boots splashed with mud. His face is mostly hidden by the hood of his cape yet there's a warmth to his voice, you sense something benelovent about him underneath the quite foreboding appearance. You make your decision, you join him at his fire, you sense this stranger has some very interesting tales to tell around the fire. You'll be glad of his companionship this night, the road and forest is alive with dangerous beings. This stranger has wisdom, goodness and courage against the dark and wickedness of the world.

These are my first Mythologie candles, and boy oh boy, do they smell good! The descriptions you read for each candle is spot on with the smells. I have loved writing fairytales with these lit on my desk (one at a time). They create just the perfect ambiance. Last night I watched The Hobbit while the scent of Wizard's Pipe Weed filled the air, and it was heavenly. I love the smell so much, I just bought the 10 oz. version of Wizard's Pipe Weed along with the 10 oz. version of The Ranger, which is also a favorite of mine. The wax melts very evenly, and if you follow the enclosed instructions, your candle will burn cleanly. Thanks to Christine for packing my candles with such care. And thanks to everybody at Mythologie Candles for such excellent customer service!

As an avid avoider of mall candle shops that were capable of causing headaches nearly instantly, I was not particularly hopeful that there would not smell like either food or soap. I have been pleasantly surprised by by strong but not overwhelming scents that are generally enjoyable. Wizards pipe weed was much more pleasant than I'd feared, having a nice berry undertone, and even Brees spice market and second breakfast are not cloying or unfortunate the way food scented candles can sometimes be.

All six of these candles have distinction between them. Each are unique, but the quality is all the same. They’re all outstanding, fragrance and burn wise and I know I’ll be getting the larger candles as soon as I can. I was especially surprised but Double Breakfast, Bree’s Spice Market, and Wizard’s Pipe Weed. These warmer food and spice fragrances are ones I don’t typically go for, but yet I love them.
