Merry Monk (Secret Candle)

The traveling monk sits before the fire, enthralling those around him with tales of old as he slowly sips his wine. Notes of goblets raised in toast, splashing bright purple plum-berry wine mulled with sumptuous spices.


Scent strength: Medium

Deep in the cellar a voice echoes, singling a happy tune. Here great oaken casts line the walls, filled with the bounty of past harvests. Set aside for ceremonies and feasts and to be sold to the nearby castle. There by torchlight, a monk lounges against the wall, a wooden tumbler in his hand, a smile on his lips. A tasting session to test the vintage has turned into a party for one. Fancies flit through his brain as the sweet wine passes his lips now stained purple. A festive evening indeed!

Royal Tapestry

The castle hall is decked with all its finery, brilliant weavings hung from the walls, alive with color and stories to tell.

Notes of  vibrant oranges from distant lands upon the king's table, warmed with exotic cloves.


Scent strength: Medium

The weaver hums as her shuttle moves in and out of the warp threads, stretched into her loom, pulling the colorful weft through in and out. Slowly, row by row, thread by thread, a picture forms. A single tapestry takes months to craft, and each thread must be perfect.

In the throne room such great work already hangs, showing great deeds of old. The king's guests stop to admire the masterwork, commenting on the colors and the craftmanship.

Some include metallic threads which glint in the light from the tall windows, like snow shining in the midday sun.

Knight's Noble Fir

The castle children clap their hands as the knights hoist the mighty fir into the center of the throne room, ready to be spangled with bright baubles.

Notes of  a towering fir, standing proud within the castle halls, woodsy musk and a wisp of juniper.


Scent strength: Medium

Stars shine overhead as the knight rides the path through the woods. Earlier in the year he spied a stately tree, its boughs deep green, its crown above its peers. He marked it with a ribbon, planning to return when Christmas draws near.

The time is now.

The moon glides from behind the wispy winter cloud, casting a silver sheen across the pure white snow. The knight dismounts at the foot of the hill, gazing upward to where his prize awaits.

At the crest of the hill stands a grand fir, its branches spangled with frost and ice but beneath living green needles, as fragrant now as within the heart of summer.

The knight approaches with reverence. This tree will stand in the castle halls, the heart of the celebration, bringing joy to many.

King's Cider House

The king sits at the head of the table, a mug in his hand, descended from his throne to toast the new year with his people.

Notes of good company sipping steaming apple cider, stirred with cinnamon sticks and toasted sugar.


Scent strength: Strong

On a merry night at the cider house, the patrons sit before the crackling fire, swapping tales and songs. Outside the wind howls, a winter storm shaking the shutters.

The door opens, and all fall silent as a regal figure enters. The king has descended from his castle on the hill and now strides into the common room, eyes twinkling. He motions to the keeper and whispers a word.

The concern on the tavern keeper's face turns to a grin and he shouts out, "Drinks for all!" The assembly cheers.

Soon, tavern maids tote jugs of sweet cider, filling each vessel in turn. The winter is long and cold and hard, but tonight the king drinks with his subjects. All is well.

The knight in the crimson cape draws his blade on a winter's morn. His enemies will not prevail.

The battle rages on a winter's morn. Fallen warriors lie cold in the snow as smoke drifts across the battle field. From the turrets, the lady of the castle watches as her remaining men stand between her and the encroaching enemy.

Cozy Castle Hearth

Flames crackle merrily in a massive stone fireplace as harpists play and snow falls beyond the palace walls.

Medieval Deer Hunt

The mighty stag pauses at the crest of the hill, sniffing the air, its hooves leaving dainty prints in the pure white snow.

Notes of roasted pinecones toasting in a hearty huntsman's fire, and sandalwood shavings in his satchel.

The forest king, a stately stag, walks the paths of his realm, listening, sniffing, alert.

The snow covering the forest floor has made food scarce for his charges. He scratches away the ice, hoping to find grazing beneath and yearlings strip bark from the stately trees.

A sound catches his ears, the distant bay of approaching hounds. He gives a cry and, as one, his herd moves. Gracefully leaping from the clearing into the thick underbrush. As soon as they are well away, the great stag takes his flight, leading the hounds away from his mates and offspring, deeper into the woods.

the Story...


Snow falls on the castle turrets as servants rush to prepare the hall for the grand feast. In the village, shopkeepers and tradesmen display their wares.

Delicious aromas waft from bakeries where dainty treats now cool, many destined for the palace tables.

Games are planned and songs are sung.

Decorations festoon the throne room.

In the village tavern, a bard practices on his lute, determined to attract the ears of the palace stewards and earn a chance to play before the king.

The nights are long but the days are merry.

    Ingredients ⚗️

    Wax: Each candle is made from premium coconut-blend wax, which is a sustainable & renewable source!


    Wicks: We use cotton wicks that are always lead-free in our regular candles and sample packs, and crackling wooden wicks in our deluxe candles.


    Fragrances: Unique fragrances, not found elsewhere, and always phthalate-free. Made with premium blended non-toxic fragrance oils & essential oils. 

    Candle Burning Tips 🔥🕯️

    • For the first burn, let the candle burn for up to 3-4 hours - or until the melted "pool" reaches the edge.


    • Always trim your wooden wick to 1/8 inch.If your wick is too long, the flame will be too big and can become a fire hazard and also give off smoke that shouldn't be there. (Nail clippers work great for wooden wicks!)


    • Clear any debris from your candle before burning, including any soot build-up on the wick. This will help your candle to last longer and burn cleaner! Never burn near anything flammable.


    • Always place your candle on a non-flammable surface! All candle vessels will get hot - be sure to place your candle on a proper candle holder or surface that will not burn or ignite. 


    • Never leave a candle unattended! In addition, be sure there is nothing nearby your candle that can ignite (hairspray, a wall, paper, a lamp, etc.)

    Buying candles online can be hard and sometimes a scent just isn’t the way you imagined it would be. Not to worry! If you’re not a fan of the candle you received, reach out to us at care@mythologiecandles.com and we will help you find something you love instead. You can ship the candle back to us and we'll help you find a scent you like better, at no cost to you!

     

    What do I do if my order arrives damaged or melted?

    We’ve got you! In the rare occurrence that something goes wrong with your order, we will make it right! Get in touch at care@mythologiecandles.com and we’ll ship a replacement.
