5 Dragon Books, Recommended by a Mythologie Elf

5 Dragon Book Recommendations

Can you get more epic than dragons?

Seriously, you could add a dragon to just about ANY book premise and get a better book.

Dragons in fiction range from adorable to awe-inspiring and benevolent to malevolent.

Most of us are probably aware of the Dragons in Game of Thrones, The Hobbit, Eragon, and other larger properties, but today we thought we'd share some hidden gems of dragon fiction.

We went for variety here, so whether your tastes skew epic, romantic, or adorable, there should be something for you.

Let's begin.

Dragon Fire Candle

A Thieving Curse by Selina R. Gonzalez

If you love romantic, fairy tale fantasy with forced proximity and dragon shifters, this book will be a treat.

Plus it has cute goats!

The Little Morsel by Rachel Rener & Alora Carter

Want a chuckle with a little bit of "Dawwww" built in? This short tale of an elderly dragon who finds his retirement home invaded by a strange, small creature he eventually identifies as a "human child" awaits!

The Pygmy Dragon by Marc Secchia

If your taste for dragon skews dragon riding with epic air battles, this tale of an under-sized Dragon shifter who fights her way out of captivity to become a great warrior will be a fun thrill ride.

Circus Phantasm by Naomi P. Cohen

More into contemporary fantasy? Tales of magical theaters and mythical creatures hidden right beneath our noses? Try Circus Phantasm, a tale of a magical circus that includes its very own grumpy dragon.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

So this one is a little adorable, but not devoid of dark and scary moments.

A forest witch raises a child who accidentally absorbed too much magic.

The Perfectly Tiny Dragon is one of my favorite sidekicks. This book is great for both children and adults.
