Frosty Forage (Secret Candle)
Smells Like: Evergreen boughs coated with the first frost of winter and crushed candy canes on freshly-chopped logs.
The grass beside the path is stiff and brittle, coated in white frost as the mouse family leaves their cottage. Breath fogging before her, Mrs. Mouse leads her children through the trees.
Even in the coldest month, nature has her bounties. Blue-black slow berries, pinecones ready to give up their nuts, acorns, and wild rose hips, there is much to be found.
Each mouse child carries a basket. Their mother has wrapped them in their warmest clothes. Hats and scarves knitted from thistledown, woolen mittens, and sturdy shoes. The cold nips at noses, but the family is merry.
They have much work to do.
